Chalet Hotels (K Raheja Corp Group) in Advanced Talks to Acquire Six Senses Vana, Luxury Wellness Retreat in Dehradun, for ₹600 Crore

Chalet Hotels Pursues Acquisition of Six Senses Vana in Dehradun

Chalet Hotels is in advanced discussions to acquire Six Senses Vana, a luxury wellness retreat in Dehradun, for around ₹600 crore. The proposed transaction would bring one of India's best-known wellness retreats into the K Raheja Corp-backed hotel company's growing portfolio.

The Property and Current Ownership

The property is currently owned by Veer Singh, son of Max Group founder Analjit Singh, and is operated under the Six Senses brand. The property operates under Six Senses, the luxury hospitality brand owned by IHG Hotels & Resorts.

The retreat is spread across 21 acres of protected Sal forest and represents a significant wellness infrastructure investment. The facility combines Ayurveda, Yoga, Tibetan Medicine, and Natural Healing Therapies with structured programming and personalized support.

Strategic Fit Within Chalet's Portfolio

The potential acquisition would give Chalet Hotels a significant presence in India's luxury wellness space, with Vana positioned around holistic wellbeing rather than conventional resort stays. The deal would add another major hospitality asset in Uttarakhand to Chalet Hotels' growing leisure portfolio, following its interest in the Rishikesh market.

Dehradun and the surrounding region have increasingly become important destinations for wellness, nature-led travel, and high-end retreats, helped by their proximity to the Himalayan foothills.

Chalet Hotels' Expansion Strategy

Chalet Hotels Limited, part of K Raheja Corp, currently operates 10 hotels totaling 3,052 keys across globally recognized hospitality brands. The company is currently developing an additional 870 rooms. Chalet Hotels management has been actively focusing on the premium and luxury hospitality segment, with strategy built on the belief that this category provides better growth potential and higher profit margins.

The company is also constructing a hotel near Delhi airport that will be managed by Indian Hotels Company under the Taj brand.

Transaction Status

A definitive agreement and transaction timeline have not been disclosed. The deal remains in advanced stages of discussion and is subject to finalisation of terms and regulatory approvals.
