Chalet Hotels Advances ATHIVA Brand Expansion — Four Points by Sheraton Navi Mumbai, Vashi to be Rebranded as ATHIVA Property
Chalet Hotels Advances Athiva Brand with Navi Mumbai Rebranding
Chalet Hotels is preparing to rebrand Four Points by Sheraton Navi Mumbai, Vashi, into an Athiva property, with the rebranding expected to be completed within the current quarter. The announcement, made during an earnings call in early February 2026, marks the next phase of rollout for the company's proprietary premium lifestyle brand.
Athiva's Origin and Purpose
The move follows the brand's debut at Khandala, where The Dukes Retreat was relaunched as Athiva Resort & Spa, Khandala last year. Derived from the Sanskrit word for "abundance" and "to a great extent", Athiva is built on the ethos of joy, sustainability, and wellness.
Chalet Hotels Limited, part of K Raheja Corp, is an owner, developer, asset manager and operator of high-end hotels and resorts in India, comprising 11 operating hotels & resorts with 3,389 keys. Chalet's Athiva push shows how Indian hotel operators are using rebranding and pricing power, not just occupancy growth, to capture the country's premium travel boom.
Navi Mumbai Property and Location Context
Situated in the heart of Vashi, Four Points by Sheraton Navi Mumbai, Vashi is only moments from CIDCO Exhibition & Convention Centre, Reliance Corporate Park, Millennium Business Park and IKEA. Located in the corporate hub of Navi Mumbai and a 5-minute walk from Vashi Railway Station, the hotel features modern rooms with free Wi-Fi, an outdoor swimming pool and fitness center and spa.
At the Four Points by Sheraton in Navi Mumbai, which is being converted into Athiva Navi Mumbai by March-end, almost 50 per cent of guests are expats from the US and Europe.
Phased Portfolio Expansion
A fully renovated business hotel in Navi Mumbai, Four Points by Sheraton, and The Resort at Aksa Beach, a K Raheja Corp Group Hotel, will also come under the ATHIVA Hotels and Resorts brand. Additionally, the company has three greenfield projects planned—two seafront properties in Goa (as Athiva Resort and Spa) and one convention centre in Thiruvananthapuram.
Brand Philosophy and Guest Experience
Designed for the millennial & Gen Z mindset, Athiva introduces signature differentiators that redefine the guest journey, including Breakfast@Anytime—freedom from rigid dining schedules; Binge Box—a wholesome, complimentary snack offering that replaces calorie-heavy minibars; Dollops of Joy—surprise treats thoughtfully woven across the stay; and Local Immersions—authentic cultural connections.
Sustainability and wellness are intrinsic to Athiva. Each property will integrate energy-efficient design, waste-conscious operations, local sourcing, and meaningful community partnerships. Anchored in Chalet's Parivartan initiative, Athiva advances a circular, inclusive, and regenerative hospitality model that aligns environmental stewardship with social equity and economic growth.
Strategic Positioning in India's Hospitality Market
India's number of branded rooms is still very low. The country has less than 2 lakh rooms, while Dubai alone has 1.5 lakh rooms. India is underserved as a market, with a big gap and opportunity. Chalet Hotels will not open hotels just to plant flags in multiple places. The company likes hotels on a scale that have to be bigger, with positioning that has to be upper upscale.
India's travel industry is experiencing growth driven by rising incomes, experiential travel demand, infrastructure improvements, and international events.
